How long have you been in business?
I began my practice in 1991 as a sole proprietor, and Plus Financial Services was incorporated in 1993,
What is your primary product or service?
We offer a wide scope of services, but most of my time is spent on tax issues and services for business owners such as QuickBooks support, payroll, consultations etc.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I have always had a keen sense for numbers and and my undergraduate degree was in Chemistry with an emphasis on quantitative gas chromatography, but I never felt connected as a scientist. It wasn't until I started taking business courses did everything have a logic and meaningful purpose for me. I stuck to my strength in numbers and completed my MBA with a double major in Accounting and Finance. I then worked at IBM Canada HQ in Toronto for over 10 years before moving to Sarasota/Bradenton.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
From our very first business client, we have provided a comprehensive bundle of business services for a fair and reasonable monthly or quarterly fee. This is very different from the hourly based bill you normally receive from an accounting professional. Of course, we do offer hourly services for those who only need limited time, but for our long term clients we find this method fosters much better communication and a team approach to addressing the companies financial needs. Interesting, this is now a hot topic in accounting circles and is known as value pricing but it has been our preferred method of doing business from 1991.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We only have the one location and do not have any immediate plans for expansion.

We are located just off SR 70 approx 1 mile east of I75. At the intersection of SR70 and Braden Run, turn onto Braden Run and take your 2nd right into the Braden Woods office park. What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express.
Which areas do you service?
Most of my clients reside in Sarasota and Manatee counties, but for various reasons I do have clients all over the USA.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I, Larry Duguay own 100% of the company. My wife, Cathy, is the only other employee. She assists in bookkeeping and incorporations, but I handle most of the daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
I try to maintain a 9-5 Monday thru Friday schedule, with limited evening and weekend time during tax season.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
That they regard me as their trusted financial adviser and they are grateful that our paths have crossed.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
I will give you 2 of my own. Treat every one with the same respect they deserve from maids to millionaires. Our goal is your financial success.
